I am an established Consultant in Upper Gastrointestinal, laparoscopic and endoscopic surgeries, and a tertiary specialist cancer surgeon for oesophagus and stomach in United Kingdom (UK). I hold a ‘ Visiting Fellow and Honorary Lecturer post’ with Teesside University. I am a well recognised teacher and trainer, lead several national and regional workshops, symposia’s in endoscopic, laparoscopic and robotic surgery in UK. A multi-skilled, progressive and strategic thinker who adapts well to lead a team in front through a firm determination chaired and led centralization of oesophagogastric cancer.
I am programme director for MCh surgery course in ‘Gastrointestinal and Breast Oncoplastic course’ and proud to share the first batch of students successfully completed their course in 2017. I a leading to extend this course in to other specialties such as urology. I was elected in to ‘national UK council’ for laparoscopic surgery and been selected as National Institute of health research sub-speciality upper GI cancer lead for northern England. I am now one of the 'FRCS Intercollegiate Examination Board Member', the highest surgical exam in UK and Ireland.
I have received a few national and regional accolades including National Clinical Excellence awards in 2011 and 2015. I hold regional, national and international recognition including the recent ‘Global Icon NRI of the year award in 2017’ in professional category.
